蕭淑芳?1911年生于廣東。1926年入北平國(guó)立藝專學(xué)習(xí)西畫。1929-1930年入南京中央大學(xué)藝術(shù)系，師從徐悲鴻先生。1930-1933年赴北京，師從汪慎生、陳少鹿、湯定之、齊白石等學(xué)習(xí)中國(guó)畫。1937年赴瑞士和英國(guó)學(xué)習(xí)并舉行個(gè)人畫展。1947-1949年任教于北平國(guó)立藝專。1980－1988年與吳作人應(yīng)邀先后訪問美國(guó)、加拿大、日本、法國(guó)、比利時(shí)、荷蘭等地，舉辦畫展并講學(xué)。1993年以來，曾在北京、蘇州、深圳等地多次舉辦個(gè)人畫展。曾任中央美術(shù)學(xué)院國(guó)畫系副教授、教授，中國(guó)美術(shù)家協(xié)會(huì)會(huì)員，吳作人藝術(shù)館館長(zhǎng)，吳作人國(guó)際美術(shù)基金會(huì)會(huì)長(zhǎng)。作品為中國(guó)美術(shù)館、中國(guó)駐外使館及海內(nèi)外藏家等收藏。

Xiao Shufang was born in Guangdong province in 1911. She entered Peking Art Training School to study painting in 1926 and then learned from Xu Beihong at Art Department of Nanjing Central Universtiy in 1929-1930. Between 1930 and 1933, Xiao studied traditional Chinese painting from Wang Shensheng, Chen Shaolu, Tang Dingzhi and Qi Baishi. In 1937, he went to Europe to study and hold her solo exhibition. In 1947-1949, She was engaged in fine art teaching at Peking Art Training School. In 1980-1988, Xiao was invited by Wu Zuoren to the U.S., Canada, Japan, France, Belgium and Netherlands for teaching and helding exhibitions. With many titles like Professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, member of China Artists Association and so forth, she participated in many domestic and international exhibitions, and her paintings were collected by China National Art Gallery and other art institutions.
