林風(fēng)眠 1900年生于廣東。現(xiàn)代畫家、美術(shù)教育家。1918年赴法國學(xué)習(xí)繪畫，入巴黎國立高等美術(shù)學(xué)校，作品曾入選法國秋季沙龍。1925年出任北平藝術(shù)專科學(xué)校校長兼教授。1927年受蔡元培之邀任杭州國立藝術(shù)院校長，倡導(dǎo)中西合璧的藝術(shù)運(yùn)動創(chuàng)作經(jīng)驗(yàn)和理論。解放后，任上海中國畫院畫師。1977年定居香港繼續(xù)從事藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作至晚年，是享有國際聲望及地位的中國畫家之一。主要藝術(shù)活動：1922年，“巴黎秋季沙龍”。1924年，“巴黎秋季沙龍”。1925年，“國際裝飾藝術(shù)展”。1929年，“第一屆全國美展”。1937年，“第二屆全國美展”；“林風(fēng)眠個展”。1945年，“第四屆全國美展”；“重慶現(xiàn)代繪畫展”。1979年，“林風(fēng)眠個展”。1989年，“林風(fēng)眠個展回顧展”；“林風(fēng)眠畫展”。1991年，被臺灣文建會授予美術(shù)特別貢獻(xiàn)獎及文藝獎?wù)隆?
Lin Fengmian was born in Mei County of Guangdong Province in 1900. He went to France and entered ENSBA in 1918. After returning to the motherland, he assumed his office in the State-run Art Academy and then settled down in Shanghai in 1951. He held his personal exhibition in the Oriental Art Museum in Paris. He lived in Hong Kong from 1977 till death. He has applied himself to the career of combining the spirit of Chinese traditional painting with that of western and modern art and therefore enjoys loft international reputations.
